If you've never heard of usenet, you need to hear about Usenet. You need a few things:
1. A provider I use NewsDemon (I get free access from them as a journo but you can refer people to get free monthly access as well.) Giganews is another provider. Subscriptions cost about $10-$17 monthly.
2. A reader. I use SABnzbd.
3. A search engine (NZBIndex works well).
Then you pick out what you want, download the NZB, point your reader to it, and go go go. This article will teach you even more.
Usenet has changed a lot over the years and right now it's what you would call a file sharing system than a news source. Sure, there are plenty of things to read on Usenet and you can still hang out and chat about Bob Dylan and siege weaponry, like back in the old days, but times have changed. Regardless, it's an interesting resource to say the least.
